Located on a wooded hill in Cold Spring, Minn., we have been called to do God’s work and grow the Kingdom of God.
This is our story, which began with a community-wide outreach in the early 1990s:
- 1993 - Invited the community to join a new worship family, which held services in the ROCORI High School cafeteria
- 1994 - Formatted a Charter to establish Peace Lutheran as an ELCA mission church
- 1995 - Installed our first pastor, Ron Bockhaus, who served for 15 years
- 1996 - Acquired 40 acres of land just north of Cold Spring on County Road 2
- 1999 - Broke ground to construct the 7,500 sq-ft worship area
- 2000 - Dedicated the Lord’s house known as Peace Lutheran Church
- 2005 - Established a partnership with Garden of Peace Cemetery, which is adjacent to the church
- 2010 - Constructed expansions of a Youth Wing and Social Hall with help from the ELCA Mission Builders
- 2011 - Dedicated the new Youth Wing and Social Hall
- 2012 - Installed our second pastor, Mark Astrup, who served for 10 years
- 2018 - Celebrated 25 years as a congregation
- 2023 - Installed our third pastor, Roger Fears, who is presently serving
- 2026 - Current baptized members are 866
